Chocolate collagen: hot drinks, smoothies and baking inspiration
By BUF Protein ·
BUF is a lightly sweetened chocolate collagen powder made with three ingredients. That chocolate flavour can be the starting point for a warm drink, a blended smoothie, or an experiment in your kitchen. The ideas below are serving inspiration—not tested BUF recipes, guaranteed results, or instructions to replace a meal.
Start with the pouch's cold-drink directions
For a cold drink, add 8–10 oz (240–300 mL) of your preferred cold liquid first, then one 28g scoop of BUF. Shake or blend until mixed. These amounts come from the existing pouch directions; they are not a new smoothie or baking recipe.
BUF contains no emulsifiers, so some natural clumping may occur. Adding liquid first helps you start with a wet base. A blender is an option when combining the powder with other ingredients. Always follow your equipment's instructions.
A warm chocolate moment
Think of a quiet evening with an open mug. For hot-drink preparation, stir or whisk the powder into the drink in the mug. The aim is a chocolate serving you enjoy; the liquid you choose will affect the flavour and texture.
Never shake hot liquids in a sealed shaker or other sealed container. Use an open mug and a spoon or whisk. Do not treat cold-shaker directions as instructions for hot liquids, and follow the equipment manufacturer's temperature guidance.
A chocolate note in a smoothie
A blended smoothie is another way to explore the flavour. Think about combinations you already enjoy with chocolate, such as banana, berries, or a nut or seed butter you normally use. These are flavour ideas, not a tested formula with promised texture or nutrition.
Your chosen liquid and other ingredients change the finished drink. Milk adds dairy; nut ingredients introduce their own allergen considerations; fruit and sweetened drinks change the sugar content. BUF's pouch facts describe the powder on its own, not every drink you make with it.
Baking inspiration, with room to experiment
Pancakes, muffins, and other chocolate bakes can be starting points for kitchen experiments. We have not published tested BUF baking recipes here, so there are no recommended substitutions, quantities, cooking temperatures, or baking times.
Do not assume collagen powder is a one-for-one replacement for flour, cocoa, or another protein powder. A recipe's balance matters, and different ingredients can change how it behaves. Follow a suitable tested base recipe and treat any modification as an experiment, not a guaranteed result.
Keep the ingredient list in view
BUF contains hydrolyzed beef collagen protein, organic alkalized cocoa powder, and sucralose. It is already lightly sweetened. Consider the other ingredients before deciding whether your drink needs extra sweetness.
One 28g scoop contains 21g protein and 0g sugars according to the existing label. Added ingredients change the nutrition of the finished serving. See the full ingredient and nutrition details for the powder itself.
Choose an everyday occasion
You do not need a performance goal or a special routine to explore chocolate flavour. Start with an occasion you enjoy and the preparation method that fits it.
