BUF Protein began when Ahmed and Suleiman started talking about how difficult it was to find halal beef-based protein that was simple, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable to drink.
We decided to make what we could not find.
As we looked for beef collagen and other animal-based proteins, we kept running into the same challenges: limited halal choices, long ingredient lists, and products we did not look forward to drinking.
We were also paying more attention to how our routines and nutritional needs were changing as we got older. We wanted something straightforward that could become part of our own routine, so we gave ourselves a shot at creating it.
For two years, we experimented with recipes in our kitchens, adjusting the flavour and simplifying the formula until we landed on something we both liked enough to use and share.
Two years of work. Three ingredients.
The final chocolate formula is intentionally short: hydrolyzed beef collagen, organic alkalized cocoa powder, and a very small amount of sucralose. It is lightly sweetened and designed so the animal-based source does not dominate the taste.
